Waclaw Zalewski
Waclaw Zalewski is a practicing structural engineer and Professor Emeritus of Structural Design at M.I.T. He has designed and constructed about 100 innovative structures in Poland, Venezuela and Middle East, and consulted on many projects in the United States, Korea, Spain and Egypt. He is a holder of several patents on construction improvements.
Edward Allen
Edward Allen is an architect who has designed more than 50 constructed buildings in California and New England. He taught technical courses and design studios for many years at M.I.T. He is the author of a number of text and reference books, including How Buildings Work, Fundamentals of Building Construction, The Architect's Studio Companion, and Architectural Detailing.
Joseph Iano
Joseph Iano is the illustrator for Shaping Structures: Statics, and the author of the companion Shaping Structures:Statics CD-ROM. He is also co-author, illustrator and contributor to a number of additional Allen books. Iano lives in Seattle where he is president of Amphion Communications Ltd., providing technical and communications consulting to the design and construction industry.
